Senate Bill 180 - Qualify Teach for America participants (Senator Jon Husted) The bill amends The Ohio Revised Code to "to allow new Internet- or computer-based community schools to open under certain conditions, to require the use of student performance data in evaluating teachers and principals for licensure, and to qualify Teach for America participants for a professional educator license."
House Bill 19 - Dating Relationships (Representative Sandra Stabile Harwood (D)) House Bill 19 would require school districts to create a dating violence policy and to include dating violence education within the health education curriculum.
House Bill 26 - Prohibits Corporal Punishment (Representative Brian G. Williams (D)) House Bill 26 prohibits corporal punishment in public schools and private schools that have a charter from the state.
