Mark Real, President and CEO

Attorney Mark Real is the founding president of KidsOhio.org, a nonpartisan research and policy organization. He has chaired Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman’s Education Advisory Committee, headed Governor George Voinovich’s Head Start Task Force, and was a member of Governor Bob Taft’s Commission on Student Success and of Governor Richard Celeste’s Commission to Reduce Teenage Pregnancy. He is currently a member of Ohio’s College Career Readiness & Policy Institute, led by Governor Ted Strickland, Chancellor Eric Fingerhut, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Deborah Delisle.
Ann Bischoff, Senior Policy Analyst

Ann analyzes education issues dealing with teacher quality, academic achievement, school choice, developing school/community partnerships and school funding in an effort to provide unbiased information to community members and pertinent decision-makers. Prior to joining the KidsOhio team in 2003, Ann taught fifth grade and gained policy experience in the offices of three state senators as part of Ohio’s Legislative Service Commission professional internship program. An Ohio State alumnus, Ann has an MA from the School of Educational Policy and Leadership. She has been invited to present research at international and national conferences and in the Journal of Teaching and Teacher Education. Ann enjoys hiking, biking, writing and traveling.

Mary joined KidsOhio.org in November 2008, bringing public policy and volunteer leadership experience. Her early career included research and publications work for the Children’s Defense Fund (Ohio and Washington, DC offices) and the Family Impact Seminar of the Institute for Educational Leadership. While raising her family and owning a small interior decorating business, Mary has been a parent advocate and volunteer in the Bexley City School District for over 14 years, including Co-founder and President of Bexley Parent Advocates for Gifted Education (PAGE) and Bexley Parents’ Visual Arts Network (P-VAN), member of various review committees, task forces and tax levy committees, and recipient of the 2003 Bexley Friend of Education Award. She also presented parent-school district collaboration workshops at the 2006 Battelle for Kids’ National Value-Added Conference and the Ohio Association for Gifted Children Annual Conference. Mary enjoys traveling with her family, biking, hiking, art, music, nature photography, interior design, baking and anything French.
Keisha J. Hunley-Jenkins JD, MA, Policy Analyst

With a special focus on the Columbus Public School District, Keisha works with educational policy that affects Ohio’s urban school districts. Keisha joined KidsOhio.org in January 2007. A graduate from Fort Hayes High School, a Columbus Public School, Keisha earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from The Ohio State University and she plans to complete her PhD in educational administration. She was admitted to the Ohio Bar in November 2007. Keisha loves to travel, meet new people and learn about different cultures.
